About the site

Hank Brockett started writing professionally in college, working as a reporter, section editor and eventually managing editor of the Northern Star student newspaper. From there, he worked for one year as the staff writer/editor/photographer/designer of the Braidwood Journal before moving on to The MidWeek newspaper in DeKalb, IL. During that time, he created the site Baseball Bookshelf, which focused on reviewing baseball literature.

Seeking a new challenge, he returned to school to learn Web site design and development, in the hopes of finding a solution to the industry-wide trend of rancid newspaper Web sites. Thus far, he has finally learned how to use Photoshop and make music videos in Flash. This work, along with other resume fodder, is available in the main section of this site.

In between classes, he has worked on this site, which began as an archive of old newspaper material and now includes book reviews, baseball nonsense and armchair podcast analysis. Hank can be reached by e-mail at hankbr at gmail.com and on Twitter at @hbrockett. Thanks for visiting.
